Oklahoma City, OK – Governor appoints 5 to Oklahoma Election Board

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Gov. Mary Fallin has appointed five people, including a former Oklahoma Corporation Commission member, to the Oklahoma State Election Board.

Fallin announced Wednesday that ex-Corporation Commissioner Jim Roth was named to the board as a Democratic member. His appointment and the other four appointments must be confirmed by the Oklahoma Senate.

Others selected were Oklahoma City brokerage director Steve Curry and Edmond attorney Tom Prince, who would be Republican members. Tulsa investment company owner Jerry Buchanan would serve as a Republican alternate member and Norman adjunct professor Tim Mauldin would be a Democrat alternate member.

The Oklahoma State Election Board was previously composed of three members, but legislation passed this year added two alternate.

Fallin says each member will begin serving immediately on an interim basis.
