Tulsa, OK –
After months of fighting over new rules for collecting garbage, Tulsa City Councilors pass a resolution amending several trash board requirements. Critics say it's an attempt to interfere with the lawful duties of the Trash Board, but Councilor Rick Westcott, who proposed the amendments, denies that charge.

An attorney for the trash board warned councilors they could be opening themselves up to a lawsuit, but Westcott says the council is on solid legal ground. He says he's just trying to answer concerns of the citizens.

In response to the council's action, Tulsa Refuse Incorporated, the current city hauler, released a statement. It says we are pleased with the city council's action and are glad the voices of the citizens are finally being heard.'
