Valley Brook, OK – Valley Brook police chief facing charge, suspended

VALLEY BROOK, Okla. (AP) The police chief of the Oklahoma City suburb of Valley Brook will be suspended without pay while he faces drug charges in Creek County.

The Oklahoman reports that the town council voted Tuesday night to suspend Police Chief Melvin Fisher without pay starting Jan. 1. Fisher has been on leave with pay since he was arrested Labor Day and later charged with possession of illegal drugs with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Fisher has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The council's vote came following an executive session. Members declined comment after the meeting.
