Rate Stays at 6.1%

Oklahoma City, OK – OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Oklahoma's unemployment rate for November is unchanged from the October rate.

The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission says the jobless rate in the state remained at 6.1 percent in November.

The commission said Thursday that the total labor force rose by about 8,000 from October to November while the number of people with jobs grew by about 7,200.

The number of unemployed rose by about 500.

The state's unemployment rate is 2.5 percent below the national rate of 8.6 percent and is 0.8 percent lower than the state's November 2010 unemployment rate of 6.9 percent.
