Sand Springs – Sand Springs and Sapulpa each have ten members on their special operations team. The national standard calls for 19. So the departments are merging SWAT operations of each community.

The City Councils of both communities have signed off on the agreement, according to Assistant Sand Springs Police Chief Mike Carter.

The communities already have radio communication with each other. Carter calls this the next logical step.
