No Bonds For OKPOP

OKPOP

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The state House of Representatives will not consider a $20 million bond issue to help build the Oklahoma Museum of Popular Culture in Tulsa. The Senate had narrowly approved the bond issue on Wednesday and sent it to the House — but the House decided not to consider the plan as the Legislature faces a 5 p.m. Friday deadline to adjourn. Tulsa Metro Chamber President and CEO Mike Neal issued a statement saying it was agreed that the best course is to wait another year before pursuing state funding to help build the museum.
