For weeks, the Broken Arrow Expressway has been narrowed to two lanes—each direction-- on the bridge over Pittsburg. That is now down to one lane-- inbound.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation’s Kenna Mitchell says they had no choice but to replace the bridge. The old overpass was the scene of several emergency repairs when the bridge deck crumbled onto the street below.
She says in a few weeks, they will narrow the roadway out-bound as well.
