Treasurer to Assess Oklahoma Finances for Fiscal Year

State of Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma Treasurer Ken Miller is to give his take on how the state fared financially in the just-concluded fiscal year.

Miller is to hold a news conference at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Capitol.

The treasurer says he will release information on the state's economic health based on tax revenue collected in June and throughout last fiscal year.

Heading into June, state finance officials said Oklahoma's general revenue fund totaled nearly $5 billion through May. That amount is $450 million, or nearly 10 percent, more than the first 11 months of fiscal year 2011 and about 7.5 percent above the official estimate.

If the trend holds, the state could have close to $350 million to deposit into its Rainy Day Fund.
