Pay Hikes for County Workers

KWGS News File photo

A couple thousand Tulsa County employees are getting raises, not elected officials though. The Budget Board okays unanimously a plan to give workers who have not received increases in nearly four years a two percent pay hike. Board Chairman John Smaligo says the raises are deserved, and the money is there to give them.

A second vote on a two percent hike for elected leaders failed on a 4-4 tie vote.  The increases being given to employees will cost about 975-thousand dollars annually and will be retroactive to December 1st.
