Oklahoma Gun Dealers Report Spike in Sales

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma City gun dealers say there has been a sharp spike in sales in the past two months.

H&H Shooting Sports Complex President Miles Hall told The Oklahoman says some customers are worried about tighter gun regulations while others want to be armed against people who commit mass shootings.

Hall says H&H sold 2,000 military-style rifles in two days and has sold out of the AR-15 semi-automatic rifle like the one used in the Newtown, Conn., elementary school shooting. Hall said sales were high before the Newtown shooting and talk of stricter gun restrictions since has driven traffic even more.

Big Boy's Guns & Ammo owner Mike Blackwell says he's sold more than 200 guns in the past week — compared a normal average of a few dozen.
