TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A 21-year-old Tulsa woman accused of shoving her husband through a window of their 25th floor apartment told jurors Friday that she pushed him — but that she did so in self-defense.
Amber Hilberling testified in her own defense Friday. She's charged with second-degree murder in the 2011 death of Joshua Hilberling.
Amber Hilberling told jurors that she was seven months pregnant at the time and feared for her safety. Earlier Friday, a defense witness testified that he found the windows in the apartment to be "unusually thin" and said they weren't well maintained.
Prosecutors allege Amber Hilberling intentionally shoved her husband to his death. On Thursday, they challenged Hilberling's claim of self-defense by calling police detectives who testified they saw no signs of a struggle in the couple's apartment.
