OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry says it has $380,000 available until mid-April to grant to farmers and community organizations in order to boost the state's specialty crop industry.

The department says specialty crops include several fruits, vegetables and tree nuts. The grants could be used to enhance their profile in the food market by supporting new varieties, improving production or spreading nutrition knowledge.

The projects have to help the entire specialty crop industry, not just one farmer's operation.
