OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A former state-owned television studio in Tulsa is the first state property sold under a new law designed to help liquidate underutilized state-owned assets.

State officials announced Wednesday the former Oklahoma Educational Television Authority studio was sold at auction last month for $130,000. The minimum bid was set at $99,000.

The property was identified by the Oklahoma Management and Enterprise Services under a law passed last year that requires the agency to identify the most underutilized state properties and assess the potential for sale. The 6,500-square-foot building was being used for storage.

Money from the sale of similar properties will be placed in a revolving fund that will be used to provide ongoing maintenance for state properties. Lawmakers this year appropriated $30 million to the fund.
