The temporary facility that replaces Tulsa’s Central Library opens downtown. The Librarium will allow services to continue while the main building undergoes a two year renovation. The ribbon is cut today on the official opening of the Librarium in an old grocery store at 11th and Denver. A few blocks away, the Central Library has shut its’ doors for a multi-million dollar renovation. Deputy Library Director Kimberly Johnson says the hi-tech Librarium is a testing facility to explore better ways to serve customers based on 21st Century needs.
The Central Library is scheduled to re-open in 2015.
