OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A state Senate committee is reviewing the state's current procedures for providing services to young adults who are no longer in state custody after they turn 18.

Republican state Sen. A.J. Griffin requested the study be conducted by the Senate Health and Human Services Committee. The panel met at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the state Capitol.

The Guthrie lawmaker says she wants to know what happens to young adults who end up homeless when they "age out" of state custody.

Among those scheduled to testify are directors of youth and family services programs in El Reno, Tulsa and Perkins, along with the commissioner of the Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth.
