TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (AP) — The Oklahoma State Department of Health is searching for people who adopted kittens in Tahlequah that may have been exposed to rabies.

The department said in a news release Friday that four kittens were adopted after being advertised on the Tahlequah Online Garage Sale Facebook group on October 1st. One of the kittens later developed symptoms consistent with rabies and was euthanized — and later tested positive for rabies.

Health officials are seeking those who adopted the other three kittens.

The kittens were picked up in a Wal-Mart Store parking lot and were about 9 weeks old with black and white markings.
