OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — State finance officials say plans to furlough nearly 400 state workers whose salaries are funded with federal dollars have been delayed.

Office of Management and Enterprise Services spokesman John Estus says both the Department of Rehabilitation Services and the Oklahoma Military Department modified their furlough plans this week.

DRS had planned to furlough 277 workers this week, while another 111 employees at the Military Department were scheduled to stop working Friday.

DRS spokeswoman Jody Harlan says the workers in the agency's Social Security Disability Determination Division will continue working, although they will not be paid after Oct. 17 until the federal budget crisis is resolved.

A Military Department spokesman was not available Tuesday to discuss that agency's revised furlough plan.
