BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (AP) — Broadway performer and Broken Arrow native Kristin Chenoweth is embarking on a charitable partnership with her hometown performing arts theater.

The Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actress and singer said Friday that the arrangement will enrich the theater's offerings.

Mark Frie, director of the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center, told the Tulsa World the details are still being worked out. But in a recent meeting with Chenoweth, Frie says the two discussed how the theater could offer scholarships, provide musical instruments for students who can't afford them and create a summer arts institute for children from around the region.

Frie says Chenoweth is eager to build a legacy in Broken Arrow.
