A fire danger alert has been issued for northeastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas.
Officials say this weekend's elevated fire danger is attributed to a combination of strong winds and low humidity. Winds on Sunday will not be as strong as Saturday, but Sunday will have a lower humidity than Saturday.
The National Weather Service in Tulsa says wind gusts of 25-35 mph were common on Saturday with lower relative humidity values predicted to fall below 30 percent on Sunday.
Meteorologist Joe Sellers say it's going to be windy and warm with a low relative humidity. Sellers says that any time that combination is present, there's an enhanced fire danger.
