Council to Take-up Municipal Election Length

City Hall at One Technology Center in downtown Tulsa
KWGS News

The Tulsa City Council will consider possible city charter revisions at a committee meeting tomorrow afternoon. At issue is the length of time between the primary and the general election.

Just re-elected, Mayor Bartlett is for changes.

DEWEY BARTLETT: "I think it should be shortened. Anywhere from two-to-four months is more than adequate for a race for the mayor of the city of Tulsa as well as for the city council."

The item is on tomorrow's one o’clock Public Works Committee agenda. The agenda item is sponsored by Councilor G.T. Bynum.

City Charter changes must be approved by voters
