MORRIS, Okla. (AP) — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says it's been asked to investigate the shooting of a man by law enforcement officers near the town of Morris in Okmulgee County.
The OSBI said Thursday that a county deputy and two Creek Nation tribal police officers went to the home shortly before 6 a.m. Thursday after a woman called saying her son was enraged.
The agency says 26-year-old Teddy James Bearden rammed the vehicle his mother was in and later used it to crash into one of the officer's vehicles before driving toward the three officers — who then opened fire.
The OSBI says Bearden drove about one-half mile from the scene before crashing and was then flown to a Tulsa-area hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. His condition was not released.
