OKMULGEE, Okla. (AP) — The Muscogee Creek Nation has scheduled a dedication ceremony for a new transit and transportation building north of Okmulgee.

The Tribal Transit and Transportation Program will hold the ceremony and an open house at the new building on Wednesday. The tribe says the program outgrew its previous facility.

The new 3,300-square-foot facility cost $850,000, which was covered by the Federal Highway Administration.

The building will be the new headquarters for the Federal Roads and Transportation Programs. Transit and Chartered Services will be operated out of the original location.

TTP Manager Charley LaSarge says the program is not just for Creek Nation citizens, but for everyone.

The open house is scheduled for Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Principal Chief George Tiger is scheduled to speak.
