OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Governor Mary Fallin won't say whether she thinks Oklahoma businesses should be allowed to discriminate against gay people.
Fallin was asked about the issue Wednesday during a presentation to reporters and editors at The Associated Press' annual legislative forum.
Fallin says she has many gay friends, but wouldn't say whether she thought it was inappropriate for businesses to discriminate against them based on their sexual orientation.
Bills that would allow such discrimination are among more than a dozen anti-gay measures introduced in the Legislature this year.
Fallin says she believes the Legislature should focus more on bills that deal with the budget and revenue, and that she wants lawmakers to closely examine tax credits.
She also said she would support a ban on texting while driving.
