MEDFORD, Okla. (AP) — A pair of earthquakes has shaken parts of Grant County in northern Oklahoma.

The U.S. Geological Survey says each of Sunday's quakes was recorded near Medford about 100 miles north of Oklahoma City and less than 20 miles south of the Kansas state line.

The first temblor was recorded at 12:42 a.m. about 16 miles south-southeast of Medford. The 3.2 magnitude earthquake was recorded at a depth of about one mile.

The USGS says the second earthquake was recorded at about 7:15 a.m. in the same area south-southeast of Medford. The 3.0 magnitude earthquake was recorded at a depth of more than three miles.

Geologists say earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3.0 are the smallest that are felt by humans and that damage isn't likely in earthquakes below magnitude 4.0
