HUD Awards Tulsa Housing Authority More than $350,000

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is awarding the Tulsa Housing Authority a $352,293 grant to hire or retain service coordinators to help residents find jobs and homes.

The funding announced Thursday can also link the elderly and the disabled with supportive services that allow them to maintain independent living.

The grant award is part of $36 million distributed nationwide.

HUD Secretary Julián Castro says housing should be a springboard to success, and says the funding will provide families with educational and economic opportunities needed to build a better future for themselves and their children.
