SAYRE, Okla. (AP) — The National Weather Service says a tornado has touched down in western Oklahoma.
Meteorologist Ryan Barnes says the Weather Service doesn't yet know the strength of the tornado that struck Thursday evening near Sayre. He says it doesn't appear the twister hit any major structures.
The Beckham County Sheriff's Office had no reports of injuries or damage late Thursday.
Tornadoes were also reported in Texas and Kansas as severe storms pushed across the region.
