More Than $1 Million Spent on Fallin's Inaugural Events

Governor Fallin
State of Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A report filed this month shows that Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin spent more than $1 million on events for her second inauguration earlier this year.

The inaugural committee reported raising almost $900,000 from donations and nearly $120,000 from event sales. The committee also used more than $89,000 leftover from Fallin's first inauguration to help cover expenses.

Oklahoma Ethics Commission rules give committees formed for special events up to six months to report contributions and expenditures.

Fallin spokesman Alex Weintz says that they worked hard to make the January inauguration a celebration of Oklahoma history and culture.
