There are allegations of abuse and neglect of juvenile patients at a Tulsa behavioral and psychiatric center. The claims are about treatment at various Shadow Mountain facilities in the Tulsa area.
The Oklahoma Department of Human Services’ Sheree Powell says there are nine open investigations, but can not discuss details.
Powell says if problems are confirmed, it will be up to the District Attorney to decide if criminal charges should be filed.
Powell says these are individual cases and there is not an investigation into Shadow Mountain as an entity. There is no timetable for wrapping up the investigations.
Shadow Mountain has not responded to our request for comment. Shadow Mountain is owned by Universal Health Services.
