Child Advocates Push Legislative Priorities

The Children's Society

State lawmakers convene in just about three weeks, and advocates for children are already meeting with legislative leaders and new lawmakers. Joe Dorman is CEO of Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy. He says a slate of 50 legislative priorities will be sought. They include healthcare, criminal justice reform, poverty, transportation, and housing.

Dorman isn’t concerned about so many new legislators in the coming session. He sees it as a new opportunity to pass child friendly legislation.
