Tulsa, Oklahoma – It's Science Week here on StudioTulsa --- and so we're offering a series of five interesting conversations from our archives, each of them concerning various matters scientific. On this edition of the program, we ask: What happens when soldiers are routinely replaced by robots? And how might society --- and politics, law, and war itself --- be changed by such a replacement? Our guest on StudioTulsa is the defense specialist and author P.W. Singer, who tells us about how the world is now on the cusp of a major shift in warfare. The shift, in short, concerns the alarming rise of super-sophisticated robotics on the battlefield. Singer has been following this shift --- tracing its science-fiction-like development; monitoring its rapid growth and dispersal --- and he fully reports on the shift in his book, "Wired for War: The Robotics Revolution and Conflict in the 21st Century."
