Tulsa, OK – (Note: This show first aired earlier this year.) Curator, artist, and art journalist Patricia Albers details the life of abstract expressionist artist Joan Mitchell --- a driven, intensely focused, and unwavering artist who lived, worked, and loved both tirelessly and recklessly. A contemporary of Jackson Pollack, Willem de Kooning, and Franz Kline, Mitchell made paintings that are today among the most valuable and sought-after in the postwar period. (In 2008, one of her pieces sold at auction for more than $6 million, the most money ever paid for a painting by a woman.) Albers is the author of "Joan Mitchell: Lady Painter: A Life."
