Tulsa, OK – Today on The Best of StudioTulsa, we listen back to our interview with author Susan Jacoby, which first aired in early March. Jacoby tells us all about her then-new book, which remains a timely, well-informed, and sometimes unsettling critique of how contemporary American society regards aging. (And of how many Americans seem to think that aging can be avoided --- or, at least, perpetually delayed....) Anyone who's seen a handful of recent TV commercials, for example, is surely aware of this "new kind of old age" --- it's the widespread mindset that sees "90 [as being] the new 50." Jacoby's book is called "Never Say Die: The Myth and Marketing of the New Old Age."
