Downtown Whistle Stop

By Associated Press

Tulsa, OK – TULSA, Okla. (AP) A designation has been delayed that would silence the horns of trains passing through downtown Tulsa. The so-called "quiet zone" designation had been expected to be implemented this spring, after work to install vehicle-proof gates at five railroad crossings was finished. City planner Dennis Whitaker says that the designation likely won't be implemented until the end of the year.
