Tulsa, OK – No charges planned over scuffle

TULSA, Okla. (AP) A prosecutor has decided not to file charges in a physical confrontation between a state trooper and a paramedic in Okfuskee County.

Max Cook, district attorney for Creek and Okfuskee counties, said Friday that after reviewing reports and talking to witnesses, it would not be appropriate to file charges against either the trooper, Daniel Martin, or the paramedic, Maurice White Jr.

The scuffle occurred on May 24, as Martin was headed to assist the Okfuskee County Sheriff's Office with a stolen-vehicle call. An ambulance he encountered did not yield. The ambulance was taking a woman to a hospital in Prague.

White has said he did not hear the trooper's siren. After reaching the scene of the stolen-vehicle call, Martin chased after and pulled over the ambulance.
