Grand Jury Probe

Oklahoma City, OK – Conflict alleged in grand jury probe

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Legal wrangling continues over whether a former employee of the state Medical Examiner's office who resigned amid sexual harassment accusations can be made to testify before a grand jury.

Scott Adams, attorney for former ME investigator Kevin Rowland, told a Supreme Court referee Wednesday that Rowland has had many confidential talks with the attorney general's office in the past and it would be a conflict for that office to question him before the grand jury.

An attorney for Eric Duval, deputy chief medical examiner, made similar arguments.

Assistant Attorney General Joel-Lyn McCormick says no conflict has been demonstrated. She described Rowland and Duval as material witnesses. Details of the investigation have not been released.
