Tulsa, OK – OSU opens new health clinic in east Tulsa
TULSA, Okla. (AP) Oklahoma State University's Center for Health Sciences has opened a clinic in what OSU officials say is an underserved area of east Tulsa.
Howard Barnett, the president of OSU's Tulsa campus and the Center for Health Sciences, spoke Thursday during a ceremony marking the facility's opening. He says the clinic was placed in east Tulsa after OSU officials identified the area as needing additional health care resources.
The clinic is the seventh operated by OSU in Oklahoma. It will provide comprehensive family medical care including pediatrics, prenatal care, women's health and adult medicine.
Francisco Trevino, the president of the Tulsa Hispanic Chamber, says many of the city's Hispanic residents live in east Tulsa and that it's important for them to have affordable and reliable health care options such as the OSU clinic.
