Hit-and-Runs Up

By Associated Press

Oklahoma CIty – OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Oklahoma City police say there have been four fatal hit-and-run cases so far this year, already more than last year's total for the city.

Authorities say about 300 hit-and-run crashes involving property damage happen every month in Oklahoma City.

But on Friday, a driver in a black Chevrolet truck ran after he struck and killed motorcyclist Brian Keith Turner.

Investigators say the cases are hard to solve if there is not a witness, and they are also hard on the family of the victim.

Police say people who run even though a person they hit needs emergency medical attention may already have problems with the law, so they choose to flee.
