Pink, OK – Okla. deputy shot 4 times, escapes serious injury

PINK, Okla. (AP) Authorities are still searching for three men in a pickup truck after a Pottawatomie County deputy was shot four times.

Sheriff Mike Booth said Wednesday night that the deputy's bulletproof vest prevented serious injury when he was shot during a traffic stop near Pink about 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Booth wasn't available for comment Thursday morning. His secretary, who declined to give her name, says authorities were still searching for the suspects and a red, 1990s model Chevrolet pickup.

The deputy whose name was not released returned the gunfire and may have hit the rear of the truck as it drove away from him.
