Tulsa, OK – More grass fires reported in Oklahoma
ALEX, Okla. (AP) Authorities battled a series of grass fires yesterday that have charred more than 700 acres and burned at least two structures.
No injuries or evacuations were reported, but a mobile home park toward Bixby, near Tulsa, was threatened.
The largest fire burned in northern Okmulgee County before it was contained. To the south, fires burned structures in Marlow and Grady counties.
A mobile home park was threatened when the fire began burning toward Bixby, near Tulsa, but firefighters were able to stop the blaze. To the south, fires burned two structures, one in Marlow and another in Grady County.
In Marlow, a dispatcher said one unoccupied structure was burned in the fire, but he didn't know what it was.
In neighboring Grady County, firefighters battled two fires near Alex, one of which burned a hay barn, Emergency Management Director Dale Thompson.
Officials say no homes were damaged and crews had nearly contained the blazes by 6 p.m.
