Tulsa, OK – Emergency responders had to rush to their own building this morning. An explosion in the basement of the Tulsa Police/Courts building downtown knocked out power to the building and generators only worked for a few minutes before shutting down.
The explosion was in an electrical closet and may have been a transformer. Fire fighters had a difficult time to get to the smoky blaze because of the high tech security system.
The explosion has closed the Municipal Court for today. Those with cases scheduled for today will have those cases rescheduled to Tuesday, July 19th.
Friday cases will be called off as well. Those will be rescheduled for Friday, July 22.
