Water and Sewer Rates to Increase in Tulsa

KWGS News File photo

You will be paying more for water and sewer service in Tulsa. The Tulsa City Council voted last night to increase rates for City Utility Service.

Under the plan approved last night, water rates will increase 7%. Sewer rates will go up by 9%. The new rates will go into effect on October 1st.

The increase was requested in Mayor Bartlett’s budget proposal, submitted to the council in late April.

There was no council discussion last night on the rate hike and no members of the public signed-up to speak for-or-against the hike at last night’s meeting.

The new higher rates will also impact bedroom communities that get service from Tulsa. That will include, Turley, Owasso, Bixby, Glenpool and Catoosa.
