Authorities Arrest 25 in Meth Ring

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma law enforcement officers have taken 25 people into custody in connection with a methamphetamine distribution operation.

The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control said 15 search warrants and 40 arrest warrants were served mainly in Lincoln and Pottawatomie counties on Wednesday.

Narcotics bureau spokesman Mark Woodward says in February, investigators identified a group of individuals who were bringing as much as 2 pounds of methamphetamine into central Oklahoma for distribution in communities such as Ardmore, Oklahoma City, Shawnee and Tecumseh.

Officers from three drug task forces helped narcotics officers in the sweep.

Those who were arrested were transported to the Pottawatomie County jail. Woodward said that as of 3 p.m. Wednesday, 25 were in custody.
