Explosion at Elk City Trucking Firm

ELK CITY, Okla. (AP) — Emergency management officials say a fire at a western Oklahoma trucking company was under control following an explosion that injured two people.

Beckham County Emergency Management Director Lonnie Risenhoover  said the cause of the Saturday morning explosion at Hodges Trucking Company in Elk City was not known.

Risenhoover said one company worker was flown to an Oklahoma City hospital while the other was hospitalized in Elk City. The severity of the injuries was not known.

Hodges Trucking is an affiliate of Oklahoma City-based Chesapeake Energy. The company's website said it provides trucking, cranes and maintenance services for the oilfield industry.

A Chesapeake spokesman said the company was investigating the incident.
