OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Gov. Mary Fallin has appointed a Tulsa man to head up the agency that operates the MidAmerica Industrial Park in Pryor.
Fallin on Thursday appointed David Stewart the chief administrative officer of the Oklahoma Ordnance Works Authority.
Stewart succeeds Sanders Mitchell, who headed the organization for 35 years before retiring earlier this year.
The authority was created as a state beneficiary public trust in 1960 and operates the 9,000-acre industrial park, which is home to operations of nearly 80 companies that include Google, Red Devil and Georgia-Pacific.
Stewart is the former president and chief executive officer of Cherokee Nation Businesses, a subsidiary of the Cherokee Nation.
