IT Audit to Begin Soon

The City of Tulsa hopes to get an audit of the Information Technology Department after the first of the year.

Tulsa City Manager Jim Twombly says it will be a far reaching review of the department. He says it will include the possibility of out sourcing at least a portion of the department.

The city’s problems started in October when a security test was mistaken for a cyber attack and the city’s servers were shut down for weeks. The city’s I-T Director, Tom Golliver, was suspended. He remains on paid leave.

Later it was learned the department was out of compliance with the Bank of America's requirements for transactions. It could have placed some of the city's customers personal information at risk. Acting IT Director Jonathan Brooks says that has been corrected.
