Proposed Tulsa Budget is Released

KWGS News

Mayor Bartlett releases his proposed city budget. It tops out at $711-million dollars. That is up about one percent from last year’s spending plan.

The essentially flat budget does not call for employee raises for non-sworn city staff. Some positions would be eliminated. Water and sewer rates will increase under the plan.  There would be no salt purchases for winter weather, because of the current stockpile. Mowing cycles for right-of-way would be reduced.

The mayor is still proposing a sales tax extension to fund public safety. We will have reaction to the plan later in the day.
