TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A Mexican national wanted for murder in Mexico has been arrested and indicted in Oklahoma for illegally re-entering the United States.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Friday that 29-year-old Miguel Angel Gutierrez-Carranza was indicted by a federal grand jury in the Eastern District of Oklahoma. ICE spokesman Carl Rusnok says he is in the custody of U.S. marshals.

Court documents do not list an attorney for him.

ICE says Gutierrez-Carranza will be returned to Mexico to face a murder charge there when U.S. court proceedings against him are completed.

The agency says officers were notified in August by Mexican officials that Gutierrez-Carranza may be in Holdenville and that agents and local law officers found and arrested him after stopping a car he was in at Wetumka.
