Rogers County Clerk Sues Newspaper Over Stories

CLAREMORE, Okla. (AP) — The Rogers County clerk has sued the The Claremore Daily Progress and the newspaper's government reporter over claims the newspaper painted her in a false light and invaded her privacy.

Clerk Robin Anderson sued the newspaper and reporter Salesha Wilken over the publication of three articles that ran between July 2012 and August 2013.

Anderson says the paper published misleading facts and in some instances implicated her in criminal wrongdoing.

The Daily Progress reports (http://bit.ly/1omzZbj ) the suit was filed Thursday in Rogers County District Court. The defendants have not been officially served notice of the litigation.

Anderson says two articles about her involvement in the administration of $13 million in federal funds misrepresent facts.

The Oklahoma State Auditor and Inspector issued several reports outlining noncompliance issues related to the grants.
