MEDFORD, Okla. (AP) — The U.S. Geological Survey has recorded a magnitude 4.4 earthquake in north-central Oklahoma.
The U.S.G.S. says the quake was recorded at 3:46 a.m. Saturday at a depth of about four miles and was centered about four miles west of Medford in Garfield County — about 95 miles north of Oklahoma City.
The county sheriff's office says there are no reports of injury or significant damage.
The Oklahoma Geological Survey has said it is likely that many recent earthquakes in the state are being triggered by the injection of wastewater from oil and natural gas drilling operations.
