Prior to 2014, Tulsa required landlords to register their rental housing property. But that year, lawmakers on the state level passed legislation make property registers illegal.

Since that time, it has been nearly impossible for cities to keep track of rental property owners.

The City of Tulsa’s Working in Neighborhoods Chief Dewayne Midget is optimistic lawmakers will tweak the rules this session.

A new report, conduct by the University of Tulsa, indicates over half of the rental property is Tulsa is sub-standard.
